Recording Studio

The Wedge

The recording studio is located in a wedged shaped room between rooms 3400 and 3401in the Music building. It is a professional recording studio control room with access to both the Recital Hall (room 3400) and the Band Room (room 3401). Either room can be used as a sound stage for recording music.

The control room uses a Tascam DM 4800 Digital Mixer with 64 channels, 24 busses, signal processing in each channel, 32 channel I/O to the computer.
The computer is a Mac Pro 8 core with 4GB memory and OSX 10.5.
The microphones are numerous including AKG C414s, Neumann TLM 103s among others.

The studio is used by both the Introduction to Recording Arts (Music 165) and Recording Arts Workshop(Music 265) classes.
